11月14日，应学院副院长查晓明教授的邀请，电力电子技术领域的知名专家、空间能量管理行业的权威、IEEE Fellow、电力电子学会(IEEE PELS)主席Don Tan博士到我学院进行交流访问。

　　期间，Don Tan博士作了题为《PELS and PE Emerging Trends》的学术报告。Don Tan博士首先介绍了美国电气和电子工程师协会和电力电子学科的发展历程，并回顾了IEEE-PELS学会成立25周年的历史和所取得的成就。随后Don Tan博士就电力电子技术在电力系统、新能源应用、电动汽车、轨道牵引、节能环保、智能城市等领域的最新应用需求及研究前沿进行详细介绍，指出电力电子学科的最新发展方向，并展望电力电子技术未来热门研究领域。最后Don Tan博士在回答同学问题时，结合自身的人生经历对在座的同学们提出了宝贵的建议，鼓励大家积极参与世界高水平国际会议和学术活动。

　　之后，Don Tan博士参观了学院大功率电力电子实验室、动模实验室、RTDS仿真中心、高压实验室等。

　　Don Tan博士简介 ：Dr. Tan is the President of IEEE Power Electronics Society and Senior Staff Manager and Distinguished Engineer, Northrop Grumman Corporation. He is responsible for both control electronics and power converters product development. His portfolio is valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. He earned his Ph.D. from California Institute of Technology and is an IEEE Fellow. He is a recognized authority in space power management systems. Don has served in many leadership positions within the power electronics society and is the recipient of numerous prestigious professional awards.
